On Wednesday the 31st of October, something very spooky happened in the Kindergarten Department! We had our “spoooooooktacular” Halloween event!

Halloween originates from the ancient Celtic harvest festivals. It originally marked the change between the end of Summer and the start of Winter. Halloween occurs once a year, on the 31st of October. It occurs on the day before All Saints Day. Halloween is the one day of the year when all things scary come out to play! Some of the traditions of Halloween include pumpkin carving, trick or treating, and looking for the ring in delicious barmbrack!

There was great excitement on Halloween morning as we prepared for the festivities.  All of the children and teachers disappeared and were replaced with witches and skeletons, spider men and Mummies, monsters and Zombies, and vampires and pumpkins! It was very scary indeed!

There were six different stations at the event for each little ghoul to visit and go trick or treating at:
Ms. Ha made some very freaky Halloween crafts at station one. The children made pumpkins, spiders, mummies and zombies!
Ms. Lan and Ms. Thu made some very freaky fruit decorations at station two! They made mummies and ghostly bananas and ooey gooey pumpkin oranges!
Ms. Hoai turned everyone into scary mummies at station 3! She wrapped them in tissue and then there were mummies everywhere!
Ms. Joyce was busy popping balloons at station four. The children were very good at popping the balloons and making very freaky loud popping noises!
Ms. Hien witnessed the little vampires grow fangs and bite the hanging marshmallows off the ceiling at station five.
At station six, Mrs. Aybeniz had her tall witches’ hats, and the little witches played some ruthless ring toss!

After each station, the children said “trick or treat!” They then got delicious sweeties, popcorn, and chocolate!

The little monsters then danced to lots of Halloween songs like Monster Mash, Thriller and the Ghostbusters song!

Everyone had a “shockingly” good time! Happy Halloween!
