Handmade Papermaking Out of Recycled Paper

Handmade Papermaking is a fun craft that can also teach us about recycling.

The Science and ICT Department initiated another school-wide project, the handmade papermaking out of recycled paper.  It is done by turning used and unwanted paperwork into new paper. This activity supplements the school’s recycling schemes as the waste paper come from the recycling bin in campus.

All the students from grade 1 to grade 12 are given the opportunity to indulge in the paper making process and create their own handmade paper. This practical art is continuously improving as students explore on texture, thickness, color, strength and varied qualities for the best handmade paper. There are many beautiful things to make with handmade paper such as greeting cards, handmade books, all the different quick art and so much more. Whether they’re cut, folded, pasted or printed, paper crafts are limitless!

Handmade papermaking using recycled scraps is an educational and fun way for students to be more proactive of the environment.
