The Department of Education and Training (DOET) visited the Horizon early morning of Tuesday (28th of November) to witness the teaching performance of one of the Vietnamese’ pride, Ms. Vu Mai Lien. The observation started at 8:30 in the morning in the Vietnamese Language Room with the Grades 11 and 12 bilingual students. The observation was arranged by the teacher in coordination with the administration team and to the Department of Education and Training for the search of “Excellent Vietnamese Teacher”. The lesson discussed was “Đất nước” which means “Country”. During the class observation, students were able to express their ideas freely and have worked collaboratively in performing the tasks given to them. Collective ideas were manifested by the students as they do the activities. Observers on the back seats were impressed with the teaching strategies, methods, and techniques used by Ms. Lien. The positivity of the teacher as she discussed her lesson made the ambiance of the room conducive for learning. Learning and fun were also manifested and evident to the faces of students and observers as they went out of the room. A short meeting was made in villa 2 for the post-conference.
