At the start of October 2017, Horizon International Bilingual School in Hanoi commenced its second year of the DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) mentorship programme. As a school-wide and year-long event, students from secondary and high school spend time once a week with the kindergarten and primary school students, engaging in a reading exchange and discussion. This opens doors for students of all levels of English to practice their reading, as well as to assist others.
The DEAR mentorship programme also creates an opportunity for secondary and high school students to act as mentors and role models for the kindergarten and primary students, allowing them to learn from each other in a way that goes beyond reading- while also encouraging unity, respect and responsibility within the school environment.
With the new implementation and integration of myON, students now have the opportunity to instantly access thousands of books for every level of English speaker on their laptops or tablets- creating an interactive and engaging reading experience for everyone.
