Based on years of research and extensive development, CAT4 is the most widely used measure for reasoning ability that has no reference to any curricular material and is not affected by the student’s first language. It discovers how students learn best and highlights his or her potential. Complementary to this, NGRT looks into both reading and comprehension skills. It further identifies any discrepancies between the two, determining whether they are functioning as gateways to learning or as barriers. Both assessments provide teachers with a better understanding of each pupil’s areas of strength and areas for growth, allowing for personalized, more effective, and more efficient instruction.
HIBS works closely with GL-Education, the leading provider of formative assessments to UK schools, overseas ministries, and British, bilingual, and international schools worldwide. Through London-based International Manager, Ms. Claire Dunn, HIBS Administrators and Subject Coordinators have tackled the implications of CAT4 and NGRT assessments to teaching and learning practices which are aimed at empowering today’s students.
