On April 27, 2021, Horizon International Bilingual School, HCMC celebrated its student-initiated Charity Bazaar and International Culture Day. Horizon conceptualized and planned this colorful event with the aim of promoting knowledge of and a better understanding of other cultures.
Students extended to the rest of the school community, parents, and guests what they had learned by decorating their booths, dressing up and performing, and even giving visitors a taste of the traditional food in the various countries they represented. Each one even had a passport that was stamped for every booth they visited! It was like going on a world tour in one day!
Parents, students, and visitors to the event were treated to stalls selling traditional cuisines as well as a variety of international souvenirs. There were also several stalls with kid-friendly activities, including a bouncy castle, face painting, and other games. We act as the primary source of funding for the People Committee's chosen donation projects. Thanks to the generous support of our parents, students, as well as homeroom teachers, the money raised through Charity Bazaar was over 190.000.000 VND.
The children were so immersed and engaged in their learning that a half-day celebration was definitely worth it because Horizon International Bilingual School believes that a love of learning should be instilled in every child and that it can be done through fun and unforgettable experiences.
With students themselves being involved, taking the helm, casting their ships off the shore, and sailing towards the horizon, Horizon International Bilingual School is full of pride and joy in them, confident that however simple the output is --however modest the decorations may be, however inaccurate the traditional dance steps might possibly be, however imperfect the dishes could be, there is no doubt that the students have learned. In this way, they have grown as humanists with respect for others, and that is what matters.
