Dear Parents,
We regret to inform you that Horizon will have to remain closed for another week, February 10—14, as mandated by the Ministry of Education and Training. With the rising number of cases around the world and the many unknown variables surrounding the global health concern brought by the Novel Coronavirus 2019 (NCoV—2019), it is safest for all children to remain in their homes at this time.
A crisis such as this further emphasizes the importance of proper education, and as a learning institution, Horizon is ready and eager to continue with the education of your children -- our world’s future.
As stated in our letter dated 6 February 2020, Horizon will be implementing live online classes on core subjects and continued learning activities in other subjects through Google Education. Online classes for grade 3-12 will take place on Google Hangouts Meet beginning on February 10, 2020, following the attached timetable (Indochina Time Time zone, Vietnam, GMT+7).
We would like to reiterate the following guidelines for the success of the online classes:
1. Sit comfortably in a well—lighted and ventilated room at home, where you can focus on class, away from the noise and other disruptive elements (ex. pets, toys, etc.).
2. Make sure your laptop/tablet is fully charged and your school books and notebooks are with you.
3. Punctual attendance is required and will be checked every period. Please be in the online classroom at least 5 minutes before the scheduled time.
4. Audio and video should be enabled. Headphones with a microphone may be used.
5. Wear decent clothing, appropriate for a classroom set—up. (No skimpy clothes or sleepwear please.)

- Rest assured that lessons have been carefully prepared to see it that:
- significant content is covered towards the fulfilment of the required curriculum. screen time is minimal.
- there are 20—minute breaks in-between for students to rest their eyes and refresh before the next class.
